Hypno-Google

Google-Yourself

Relax. Sit back.  Take a few deep breaths… It’s OK to Google yourself!  And while you’re at it, Google your business!

Yes, this is the excuse you’ve been waiting for.  It’s important to know how you appear to googlers.  A quick search of “Hypnobirthing Institute” brings up the Official Website as the #1 hit.  The second is their Facebook page, and the following are private pages of their certified practitioners.  Way to to, H.I.!  Looking good so far.

On to Twitter!  H.I. has an account, and everything there looks pretty spiffy. Nothing to be ashamed of, and no bad comments.  But what if someone DOES post something unsavory out there?  TweetBeep to the rescue!

If you love Twitter, you’ll love TweetBeep! Keep track of conversations that mention you, your products, your company, anything, with hourly updates! You can even keep track of who’s tweeting your website or blog, even if they use a shortened URL (like bit.ly or tinyurl.com). Now, how cool is that?!

Great for online reputation management, catching all your @replies and @mentions, finding job/networking opportunities, keeping up on your favorite hobby, and more!

While you’re at it, H.I, you might want to consider Commun.it.

“The best relationship-management tools out there. It helps you to cultivate your followers on Twitter & make important connections to build your business.”– Social Media ExaminerAnd who are the “faces” of H.I.?  The practitioners!  Each practitioner is responsible for her own business, own image on the web, and this image can reflect back directly on the H.I.  So, maybe H.I. should suggest the above options for their practioners, in addition to these next ideas…Linked In.  It’s the most popular professional profile tool on the web.  Every practitioner should have a profile there, and should keep it updated.

Quora.  This is where the people who know something say something.  This is the place to be seen hobnobbing with the big-shots!  Fortunately, quora has a community for Health and Wellness, a perfect fit for Hypnobirthing practitioners.  After a quick search, I see there are plenty of opportunities for practitioners to participate in discussions and get noticed.

There are so many opportunities to promote and polish an online reputation.  Why not get started now?

  1. I was posting this on another student’s blog about using images of children because it made me think of this. Then I thought you might be interested in this to warn parents not to post very personal images because there are sick people who will exploit. Also, you might be interested in the Lay Me Down to Sleep organization for your business. My old boss/friend is the photographer http://www.dachowskiphotography.com who took the images for this family. http://www.wmur.com/news/nh-news/special-reports/family-shocked-that-picture-of-stillborn-son-stolen-online/-/13386842/20248634/-/c7m0es/-/index.html

    • Yep, that was my blog you posted on about the stolen image (just another post). I can understand how you got it confused, because I get confused going back and forth between all of the fellow classmates blogs, too! (Eyes are crossing)! Anyhow, that is a very interesting concept. I’m sure Hypnobirthing practitioners do run into pregnancy or baby loss from time-to-time (though I don’t believe it is very common). That is a very kind photographer to provide that service. Good networking opportunities are everywhere!
